1. How do I register for a class? Registration can be completed in one of several ways:

First, students have the option of stopping by our office in person at 2050 Bryant St. in between 18th and 19th streets in the Mission and registering in person. The office is typically open M-F between the hours of 10am and 6pm. You can drop off a completed registration form that you will find on the table outside the office along with your payment of cash or check (made out to CELLspace) in our deposit box. Please bring exact change if paying with cash as our office staff does not carry change.

Second, you can download a registration form off of the main page of our web-site or send in any piece of paper with your name, e-mail, phone and the class(es) you want to take along with your payment to:

2. How do I obtain a materials list? All of our media arts classes have no materials list. Students will be assigned to their own computer in our media arts lab. For certain classes such as Mixed Media Painting and Figure Drawing, students will be e-mailed a materials list about 2 weeks before the class starts. You can also obtain these lists by e-mailing classes@cellspace.org For classes such as bookbinding and Found Film Collage, Printmaking and Stenciling teachers will cover needed materials the first day of class and many of these classes have communal libraries of materials that students choose from.

3. How old do I have to be to take a class in the Adult Art Education Program? We offer these courses to adults 18 and over. Our Youth Program, Mission Urban Arts, offers a free 5 day a week art, counseling, and tutoring program to neighborhood youth ages 13-19.

4. How often do these classes run? Classes run four times a year and typically last 6 weeks with several courses lasting 8 weeks. There are also several one day workshops to choose from each session. Typically, there is a 6 week break in between class sessions. Some of our more popular classes like dreamweaver, Photoshop, Reason, Silkscreening, Painting, and Metal Working fill up extremely quickly so these courses may run 8 times a year. To figure out if these classes are running in between sessions e-mail katie@cellspace.org

5. How do I apply if I am interested in teaching a class? We are always looking to expand our Adult Art Program and Mission Urban Arts by hiring teachers who propose innovative course offerings. If you feel like you want to apply to be a paid teacher or a volunteer teacher for the Adult Program, e-mail Katie, the Program Director, at katie@cellspace.org. If you are interested in working with youth e-mail helen@cellspace.org or lizbett@cellspace.org

6. How do I know if I am officially registered for a class? You will receive an e-mail confirmation from CELLspace if you have registered for an Adult Art class.
